Technology, I Tell Ya.

What will they come up with next?

I finally caught up on some of my magazine reading this weekend, and came across this.

I'm guessing you've heard of the Kindle , or Nook electronic book readers by now. But have you heard of the Demy? It is an electronic recipe holder. It's basically every cookbook put into one. You also have the ability to upload your own recipes into it, which could be a very efficient way to organize your (my) messy recipes.

I had no idea what it was, and I'm still bordering on the line of whether I think I like it, or think it's a little over the top.

Here are some of the features:

"Cooking counter-top space is always at a premium. The Demy only takes up as much space as a 5 x 7 card. Still need more space? Stand your Demy on end. The screen flips automatically, and it only takes up the space of a 3 x 5 card!"

"Designed to meet the demands of a busy kitchen the splash-resistant design and sturdy plastic exterior make it easy to clean. Spills easily wipe off the sealed touchscreen with a damp cloth."

"Small text can be tough to read. Tap Demy's "Font Size" button and enlarge text until your eyes are comfortable."

"Why clutter your counter with gadgets? The Demy comes with three built-in timers! No need to juggle cooking times. The Demy timers will notify you with flashes and tones as each cooking time expires. "

"Don't remember how many quarts are in a gallon? The Demy's conversion tool will quickly convert your portions from one measurement to another."

"No need to make the emergency trips to the grocery store or delay meal time for one missing ingredient. Quickly access a list of ingredient substitutions that will save the day."

If they had them in stock you could buy one now for $299.95. But they don't, so you'll have to wait.

What do you think?
